آموزش نبوغ
پس از تکمیل دوران خدمتم به عنوان یک استاد زیست شناسی اینک بازنشسته می شوم. یکی از همکارانم پرسید "چه چیزی بیش از همه دلتنگ ات می کند؟" پاسخم چیزی بود که سی سال پیش هرگز از خود انتظار نداشتم که بگویم: "من دلتنگ خلاقیت در آموزش خواهم بود." آن روزها که عضو هیئت علمی جدیدی بودم آموزش را ضرورت زیانباری می دیدم که مرا از آزمایشگاه دور نگه می داشت. بیشتر می خواستم بر پژوهش تمرکز کنم، و دانشجویان تحصیلات تکمیلی را در آنچه امیدوار بودم مطالعات بدیعی در رشد سلولهای عصبی باشد راهنمایی کنم. بر این باور بودم قوه تخیل نه در کلاس بلکه در آزمایشگاه – در ابداع روشها، طراحی آزمایشها و تفسیر داده ها- زاده و شکفته می شود. آما وقتی زندگانی ام چرخش غیرمنتظره ای یافت دانستم که چقدر در اشتباه بوده ام.از عمر خدمتم 10 سال می گذشت که به عنوان استاد رسمی با شوق تمام همچنان با تلاشی شایسته درگیر زمینه پژوهشی ام بودم که خواهرزاده نوجوانم یتیم شد و به شکل تک والد (single parent) سرپرستی او را برعهده گرفتم. پس از مدتی که در سازگاری با شرایط جدیدم سپری شد دیدم که نمی توانم هم یک آزمایشگاه تمام عیار علوم اعصاب را اداره کنم و هم به خواهرزاده ام آنچنان که نیازمند آن است توجه کنم. در نتیجه تصمیم گرفتم تمرکز کارم را به جای پژوهش عمدتاً به آموزش دانشجویان دوره کارشناسی تغییر دهم. تمرکز به آموزش این اجازه را به من می داد که آسانتر هر روزه در وقت معینی غروب خانه باشم و از فشار و زمان لازم برای اختصاص دادن به دانشجویان و پروژه ها مرا خلاصی بخشید.بسیار سخت بود که یک برنامه پژوهشی را رها کرد- که تا آن زمان- کار و وظیفه تعیین شده ام بود و اشتیاق مرا برمی انگیخت. برای دورنماندن از دنیای پژوهش، به امید داشتن بحث های پرشوروحال درباره آخرین کشفیات، خواندن مقالات ژورنالها را جزء تکالیف آموزشی دانشجویان سالهای بالاتر تعیین کردم. به شکلی فلاکت بار این نقشه شکست خورد. دانشجویان با نگاهی اجمالی مقالات را ورق می زدند ولی بندرت کاملا در آنها غوطهور می شدند. بسیاری حتی به شکلها نیز توجه نداشتند که انتظار من عمدتا توجه به آنها بود.وقتی به کتابهای درسی زیست شناسی مقدماتی که آنها در کلاسهای پیش خوانده بودند نگاه می کردم راه حلی برای این مشکل پیدا کردم. تصاویر فراوانی از حقایق علمی- مانند آرایه ای از استخوانها در بال پرندگان یا یک تاژک باکتریایی- در این کتابها وجود داشت که بسختی هر یک از این شکلها به شکلها و یا داده های ارائه شده در مقالات علمی می مانست.به همان اندازه مشکل آفرین، این بود که کتابها بسیار بسیار کم شکلهایی داشتند که نشان دهد چگونه یافته های کلیدی به دست آمده اند و یا چه کسی آنها را انجام داده است. اینک معلوم بود چرا: دانشجویانم در به خاطر سپردن حقایق علمی راحت بودند، اما این بصیرت را نداشتند که چطور این حقایق فراهم شده و یا چگونه نتایج اخذ شده اند. نبوغ پژوهش- آنچه من بیش از هرچیز دوست داشتم به خاطر آن دانشمند شوم- از نگاه آنها گُم بود.این الهام راه مرا در استفاده از نوشته های اولیه علمی در آموزش تغییر داد. باید به جای یادگیری کلّ مطلب به آموزش عمق موضوع می پرداختم. چندین جلسه از کلاس را، با تجزیه و تحلیل هریک از جداول و شکلها، صرف ساخت گشایی (deconstruction) از مقاله ای واحد کردم. سپس پرسیدم "اگر شما نویسنده همکار مقاله ای بودید که هم اینک خواندید، کار بعدی تان می توانست چه باشد؟"برخی از دانشجویان با گفتن اینکه ما خلّاق نیستم از پاسخ طفره می رفتند. اما از آنها خواستم در این مورد سعی کنند- و برای واداشتن آنها به فوریت کار اعلام کردم که در جلسه بعدی یک "میز گرد(panel) گرنت" برپا میکنیم که مطالعات پیشنهادی آنها را رتبه بندی کند و تصمیم بگیرد خزانه فرضی اعتبارات پژوهشی را کجا باید صرف کرد.پس از شرکت در این میزگردها دانشجویان حرف خود را پس گرفتند. آنها از تنوع مطالعات بعدی در میان پیشنهادات همکلاسی هاشان شگفت زده بودند. آنها با شوق تمام بحث می کردند که کدام دیدگاه برتری دارد و با دیدن اینکه میزگردهای دیگر گزینه های متفاوتی دارند تعجب می کردند: "آشکار است که میزگرد 6 بهترین است!" اینکه می دیدی هر دانشجویی در این فرایند با پایبندی به یک نظر در مورد قدرت خلاقیت خودش چیزی کشف می کند هیجان داشت. بعدها یک زن باهوش و تیز به من گفت –که برای نخستین بار- دریافته که چقدر حال خوبی داشته است که که می دیده ایده های علمی خودش بروز کرده است. آیا به ازای هر دقیقه ای صحبت در کلاس می توانستم چیزی بیشتر از این به آنها آموخته باشم؟ مطمئنا. اما این چیزی نبود که من به دنبال آموزش آن باشم. دانشجویان خود می دانستند که چگونه حقایق علمی را یاد بگیرند. من بیشتر می خواستم آنها در مورد فرایند پژوهش عمیقا فکر کنند و قوه خلّاقیت خود را توسعه دهند. می خواستم که آنها از تخیلات خودشان بهره جویند.در غزلی مشهور استفان سوندیم (Stephen Sodheim) مینویسد " ببین! من- جایی که هیچ کُلاهی وجود نداشت- یک کلاه ساختم". من چند دهه به دانشجویانم آموزش خاص خود را دادم – به امید اینکه آنچه در مورد خلاقیت خود می آموزند دانشی باشد که می ماند. بعدالترجمه:به عنوان سردبیر از خوانندگان درخواست می کنم برداشت خود را از این مقاله کوتاه (یا نوشته های مشابه) را به مجله ارسال کنند بلکه بنای بحثی شود برای طرح موضوعات نوآوری در آموزش؛ نقش آموزش در پرورش ذهن پژوهشگرانه؛ موانع آموزش خلاق در کلاسهای درسی دانشگاه ها یا حتی مدارس؛ بهره گیری از کتابهای درسی و مقالات مجلات در کلاسهای درس؛ توازن بین آموزش و پژوهش در حیطه وظایف اعضای علمی و غیره. این پاسخ می تواند حتی شامل ارسال تجربیات شخصی در آموزش باشد.اینها سوالاتی است که می دانم ذهن اکثر استادان، بویژه همکاران دانشگاهی جوان را خیلی به خود مشغول میدارد چرا که، به طور خاص، اغلب تبدیل وضعیت یا ترفیع و ارتقاء آنها در سایه و چارچوب مقرراتی انجام می شود که بنوعی پژوهش و فعالیت های پژوهشی را مقدم و نافذترمی داند. هرچند بحث بسیار جدی و پردامنه است، شاید بشود با اختصاص شماره ای از مجله مباحث و دیدگاه های علمی و فنی را در این زمینه مطرح کرد و به سهم اندک خود به یاری همکاران اندیشمند نویسنده و مترجم مجله راه حلهایی برای رفع تنگناهای یک آموزش خوب (که در دانشگاه آسیب های جدی دارد) در کنار فعالیت های پژوهشی اندیشیده و پیشنهاد داد. چاره جویی برای اصلاح مقررات یادشده هم می تواند فایده دیگر این بحث ها باشد.این مقاله ترجمه ای است از:Teaching ingenuity, Science, 14 JUNE 2019, VOL 364 ISSUE 6445, page 1102.

"ارتباط علم و جامعه" عبارتی است که می توان آنرا به اشکال گوناگون تفسیر کرد. به عنوان یک شرکتکننده در این جلسه، برخی از شما ممکن است از خود بپرسید: منظور از این عنوان دقیقاً چیست؟ آیا "ارتباط" به معنای روندی است که طی آن یافته های علمی، نیازهای اساسی بشر را سمت و سو میدهند؟ یا به نقش خود دانشمندان اشاره میکند، که در عرصههای مختلف جامعه، به عنوان محقق، اکتشافگر، مخترع، معلم، مدیر اجرایی یا شهروندی متفکر، ایفای نقش میکنند؟

در آمدی بر فلسفۀ زیست شناسی
گسترش توجه فلسفی به زیست شناسی در طول چند دهۀ گذشته نشان دهندۀ اهمیت روزافزون علوم زیستی در دوران کنونی است. اکنون منابع علمی گسترده ای در بسیاری از زیرشاخه های مختلف علوم زیستی وجود دارد، و ارائه ی خلاصه ای از آن همه مطلب در یک نوشته کوتاه ممکن نیست. امّا، در این مقاله سعی می شود توضیح داده شود که فلسفه ی زیست شناسی چیست و اینکه چرا زیست شناسی برای فلسفه و فلسفه برای زیست شناسی مهم اند؟ در پایان مقاله فهرستی از مطالب مرتبط و مهم که به موضوعات خاصی در فلسفه زیست شناسی پرداخته اند ارائه می شود. به طور کلی فلسفه ی زیست شناسی با سه نوع مبحث فلسفی متفاوت سروکار دارد. نخست، فلسفۀ زیست شناسی به گزاره های کلی در زمینۀ فلسفه علم می پردازد. دوم، معماهای مفهومی خود زیست شناسی, مورد تجزیه و تحلیل فلسفی قرار می گیرند. سوم، در بحث از پرسش های فلسفی سنتی, زیست شناسی هم جایگاه خود را یافته است. دو نوع اول از پژوهشهای فلسفی, به طور معمول در حوزه دانش زیست شناسی بحث و بررسی می شوند، اما مورد سوم کمتر با زیست شناسی ارتباط رو در رو دارد. فلسفۀ زیست شناسی را همچنین بر اساس حوزه های نظریه های زیست شناختی مرتبط با آن مربوط می شوند می توان به زیرشاخه هایی گروه بندی کرد. زیست شناسی طیف متنوعی از رشته های علمی، از علوم تاریخی مانند دیرینه شناسی تا علوم مهندسی مانند زیست فناوری را در بر می گیرد. در هر کدام از این زمینه ها, مسائل فلسفی مختلفی رخ می نمایند. بخش دوم مقاله به این موضوع می پردازد که چگونه فلاسفه به برخی از شاخه های اصلی زیست شناسی نزدیک شده اند.

اهداف آموزشی زیست شناسی در دوره های پیش از دانشگاه در ژاپن
ژاپن کشوری است که گرچه در قاره آسیا قرار گرفته ولی با بسیاری از کشورهای اروپایی و آمریکای شمالی در حوزه علم و فناوری رقابت نزدیک دارد. ریشه این رقابت در آموزش و پرورش این کشور نهفته است. در این کشور راهبری آموزش از مهد کودک تا آخرین مراحل آموزش عالی در یک وزارتخانه قرار دارد و لذا جدایی در سیاست گذاری های کلان و خرد در آموزش متوسطه و آموزش عالی وجود ندارد. ژاپن از سالها قبل، سیستم شش- سه- سه را برای آموزش متوسطه خود انتخاب کرده است. در این مقاله دوره متوسطه اول، دوره متوسطه دوم، و آموزش عالی غیر دانشگاهی که شامل کالج های جوانان، کالج های تکنولوژی، کالج های آموزش ویژه، و تربیت معلم است مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. دروس و واحد های دوره های متوسطه اول، دوره متوسطه دوم نشان از تفاوت بسیار زیاد آموزش و پرورش در این کشور در مقایسه با کشورمان دارد. یکی از این موارد آموزش زیست شناسی است. با توجه به حجم زیاد مطالب و نیاز به معرفی کامل آموزش در دوره های پیش از دانشگاه در ژاپن، تصمیم گرفته شد تا بخش عمومی آموزش و پرورش در ژاپن در این مقاله و بخش منحصر به آموزش زیست شناسی در این کشور در شماره بعدی منتشر گردد. این مقاله حاوی نکات درس آموزی از آموزش و پرورش در کشوری است که بر هویت ملی خود تاکید زیادی دارد و بر همین اساس توانسته علاوه بر رشد در فناوری، صنعت و اقتصاد از سال 2000 میلادی بیش از 14 برنده حایزه نوبل را به جهان معرفی کند.

بحران کمیّت تولید مقاله و بی اخلاقی علمی در کشور
در دو دهه اخیر آموزش عالی ایران با افزایش شدید دانشجویان تحصیلات تکمیلی و گستردگی انتشار مقالات علمی پژوهشی مواجه بوده است. این افزایش علی رغم تناسب با بودجه های ناچیز پژوهشی نه تنها کمکی به بالا بردن سطح علم و رفاه در کشور نکرده است، بلکه ستون های اساسی فرهنگ، آموزش و پژوهش کشور را دستخوش کمی گرایی و منفعت گرایی های غیراخلاقی در انتشار مقالات کرده است. در این مقاله با ارائه آمارهایی از شمار دانشجویان و مقالات به گوشه هایی از این بی اخلاقی ها اشاره شده است. بر خلاف گزارش های رسمی از آمار افزایش مقالات که آن را دستاورد بزرگی برای آموزش عالی قلمداد می کنند، نگارنده ضمن تایید دستاوردهای خوب معتقد است که این افزایش حبابی است که بر پایه اساس سیاستگذاری های غیر اصولی تشکیل شده که 5 عامل در آن بیشترین دخالت دارد: 1- بهره کشی از دانشجویان تحصیلات تکمیلی؛ 2- اعمال مقررات سخت مقاله محور برای ماندن و رشد در دانشگاه؛ 3- افزایش همکاریهای خارجی؛ 4- افزایش کمی دانشجویان و انتشار مقالات بی کیفیت؛ و 5- افزایش بی اخلاقی در انتشار مقالات علمی. در خاتمه به 10 راهکار برای برون رفت از این بحران اشاره شده است که مهمترین آن کاستن از شمار دانشجویان تحصیلات تکمیلی و محدود کردن آن به دانشگاه هایی است که از نظر کادر هیئت علمی، امکانات مالی و آزمایشگاهی از استانداردهای لازم برخوردارند.

چگونه یک شرکت با فناوری زیستی تاسیس کنیم
روحیه کارآفرینی در علوم زیستی با ایجاد مراکز نوآوری در سراسر جهان در حال گسترش است. بسیاری از این مراکز در مجاورت دانشگاهها رشد میکنند. اکتشاف به معنای یافتن مسیرهای جدید علمی یا حل مسائل موجود بدون در نظر گرفتن مسایل اجرایی و تجاری است که این امر معمولا مستلزم بهرهگیری از خلاقیت است. اما نوآوری به عملی نمودن اکتشاف اطلاق میشود. اگر دانشگاهها موتور اکتشاف باشند، آنگاه شرکتهای نوپا وسیله نقلیه برای نوآوری هستند. خلاقیت و هدایت محققان جوان فعال در حوزههای زیستی قابلیت خوبی برای کاربرد اکتشافات و ایجاد تغییرات انقلابی در صنایع است.

نگاهی به مؤسسات زیست فناوری کشور (مؤسسه رازی)
این گزارش به درخواست سردبیر توسط استاد پُرسابقۀ قلمرو ویروس شناسی در مؤسسه رازی، جناب آقای دکتر شفیعی، تهیه شده است. استاد شفیعی با منش فروتنانه ای که دارند با درخواست مصرانه سردبیر، گزارش مفصلی از فعالیت های خود و همکارانشان را در طول چند دهۀ گذشته به رشته تحریر درآوردند. هدف از ارائه چنین گزارشهائی در مجله ترویجی زیست شناسی ایران نشان دادن مسیر سخت و پرتلاش پژوهش و راه اندازی پژوهشگاه های واقعاً مؤثر در گذشته و حال کشور است. از گزارش پیداست که استاد شفیعی و همکارانشان با چه همت والا و درخور ستایش در مبارزه با بیماریهای واگیر فعالیت کرده اند. نتیجۀ کار آنها استمرار بقا و تداوم کارهای باارزش در موسسه تحقیقات رازی است. در خلاصه کردن و ویرایش سبک نگارندگان حفظ شده است؛ همینطور نام ها و اسامی سازمان ها و نهادها به همان شکل اصلی آنها آمده است.

کمک به دانش آموزان برای توسعه سواد علمی
خواندن، نوشتن و ارتباط گفتاری تمرین های جدی و حساس با سوادی برای شرکت در یک جامعه جهانی هستند. در زمینه کاوش علمی، تمرین های با سوادی با توانایی بخشی در دست و پنجه نرم کردن با ایده ها، به اشتراک گذاشتن افکار، غنا بخشیدن به درک و حل مشکلات به نوآموزان کمک می کنند. در این مقاله، ما پنج ویژگی آموزشی در برنامه درسی را که می توانند در توسعه سواد در زمینه علم به دانش آموزان کمک کنند، پیشنهاد می کنیم: 1) پیوند زدن ایده های جدید با دانش و تجارب پیشین؛ 2) لحاظ کردن یادگیری با سوال های با معنی در زندگی دانش آموزان؛ 3) مرتبط کردن چند ارائه؛ 4) فراهم کردن فرصت برای دانش آموزان جهت استفاده از ایده های علم؛ و 5) کمک کردن به دانش آموزان برای درگیری در گفتگو های علمی. این پنج ویژگی توانایی دانش آموزان برای خواندن، نوشتن و برقراری ارتباط درباره علم را افزایش می دهد تا آن ها بتوانند در تمام طول زندگی خود به کاوش بپردازند. تحقیق روشمند برای پاسخ به پرسش های با معنی درباره پدیده های طبیعی و شرح و بسط توضیحات بر پایه شواهد اساس کاوش علمی را تشکیل می دهد. در کلاس های درسی که به چنین کاوش هایی اهمیت می دهند، تمرین های پایه با سوادی مانند خواندن، نوشتن و گفتگو برای درک ایده های اصلی علم ضروری هستند.

عملکرد مولکولهای RNA اغلب به ساختار فضایی آنها بستگی دارد. ساختار فضایی یک مولکول RNA را میتوان با روشهای آزمایشگاهی مانند NMR و یا کریستالوگرافی اشعهی ایکس به طور دقیق مشخص کرد، ولی این کار مستلزم صرف زمان و هزینهی بالایی میباشد. به همین دلیل، استفاده از روشهای محاسباتی برای پیشبینی ساختار فضایی یک مولکول RNA بسیار مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. به دلیل این که مسئله پیشبینی ساختارهای فضایی RNA بسیار پیچیده بوده و از نظر محاسباتی پرهزینه است، لذا اکثر تحقیقات انجام شده در این زمینه بر روی مسائلی تمرکز دارند که به ساختار دوم RNA مرتبط میباشند. این نوع ساختار را میتوان به صورت مجموعهای از موقعیتهای جفت شده در یک دنبالهی RNA توصیف کرد. مسئله پیشبینی ساختار دوم RNA در حدود ٣٠ سال پیش ارائه شده و تا کنون تحقیقات زیادی بر روی آن انجام شده است. کمینهسازی سطح انرژی به عنوان یکی از رویکردهای مهم برای حل این مسئله پیشنهاد شده و بر اساس آن الگوریتمهای نوسینف و زوکر ارائه شدهاند. در این مقاله، پس از ارائه تعاریف اولیه مربوط به ساختارهای RNA، این دو الگوریتم با جزئیات کامل ارائه و تحلیل میشوند.

مهندسی متابولیک: هنر زیست شناسی تولید مواد شیمیایی مفید
مهندسی متابولیک روندی برای تولید مواد شیمیایی، انواع سوخت و داروها، با ایجاد تغییراتی در مسیرهای سوخت و ساز موجودات زنده است. این روش تغییرات مفیدی در مسیرهای متابولیک برای درک بهتر مسیرهای سلولی و استفاده از آنها ایجاد می کند. کاربردهای تجاری مشوق مهندسی متابولیک برای گسترش سویه هایی به منظور تولید متابولیت های سودمند است. این روش به افزایش بیان برخی ژنها یا کاهش بعضی پروتینهای خاص در یک مسیر متابولیکی نیاز دارد، به طوری که سلول بتواند محصول جدیدی تولید کند. با توجه به مزایای آن بر مسیرهای سنتز شیمیایی، این زمینه بیوتکنولوژی احتمالاْ موجب تحول در شیوه ی تولید اقتصادی مواد مطلوب می شود.

نقش سیستم های انتقال دهنده عصبی مغز در فراموشی ناشی از استرس
قرار گرفتن در شرایط استرسزا با فعال نمودن محور هیپوتالاموس-هیپوفیز-آدرنال باعث رهایی هورمونهای استرس مانند نور اپی نفرین و گلوکوکورتیکوئیدها میشود. تشکیلات هیپوکامپ و آمیگدال به عنوان ساختارهای لیمبیک که در شکلگیری یادگیری و حافظه نقش بسیار مهمی دارند، دارای بیان بالایی از گیرندههای هورمونهای استرس هستند و بنابراین به شدت تحت تاثیر استرس قرار می گیرند. تشکیل حافظه یکی از مهمترین و اصلیترین فرایندهای ذهنی است که بدون آن بکارگیری آسانترین رفلکسهای ساده و رفتارهای کلیشه ای میسر نیست.بنا به اهمیت موضوع ، در مطالعه حاضر سیستم های انتقال دهنده های عصبی در جایگاه های مختلف مغزی که در یادگیری و حافظه دخالت بسزایی دارند همراه با بر همکنش آنها با استرس مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است.

بهرهگیری از قدرت تکامل در بیوتکنولوژی با استفاده از روش تکامل سازشی آزمایشگاهی (ALE= Adaptive Laboratory Evolution)
تکامل سازشی آزمایشگاهی به دلیل سادگی و تاثیرگذاری بالا برای بهبود بخشی به ویژگیهای سویههای مهم صنعتی از جمله مصرف منبع کربن، مقاومت به شرایط نامناسب محیطی و مقاومت به مهارکننده های شیمیایی استفاده می شود. عدم نیاز به دانستن اساس ژنتیکی فنوتیپ های مورد نظر این روش را به یک روش قدرتمند برای توسعهی سویههای میکروبی، حتی وقتی اطلاعات بسیار اندکی در مورد ژنتیک آنها وجود دارد، تبدیل کرده است. گر چه روشهای انجام ALE سالهای متمادی همچنان ثابت باقی مانده است ولی پیشرفتهای جدید با افزایش سرعت تکامل و تسهیل آنالیز نوید بخش بهبود فرآیند تکامل آزمایشگاهی سویههای جهش یافته است. هدف این مقالهی معرفی و بررسی پیشرفتهای اخیر در زمینه تکامل سازشی آزمایشگاهی و بررسی چگونگی بهرهگیری از آن در اهداف زیستفناورانه است.

20 سال با لیپیدومیکس؛ مروری بر جنبههای کاربردی و ابزاری
لیپیدومیکس به عنوان شاخه جدیدی از علم گسترده اومیکس، اخیرا مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. این علم اگرچه در دهههای گذشته نادیده گرفته شده بود، اما به علت نقش موثری که در ایجاد فهم عمیقتری در دانش زیست شناسی سامانهای و بیوشیمی کاربردی داشته است، توانسته جایگاه ویژهای را در بین علوم دیگر اومیکس پیدا کند. مشارکت در ساختار غشایی و ساختمانی سلول، انتقال و تنظیم پیامرسانی سلولی و حفظ و ذخیره انرژی زیستی، همه مثالهایی از اهمیت چربیها در سلولهای زنده هستند که توسعه علم لیپیدومیکس به شناخت و کنترل عوامل مؤثر بر آنها کمک میکند. در این مقاله ضمن معرفی لیپیدومیکس و تعیین حدود آن، کاربردهای متنوع این علم در صنایع مختلف پزشکی، داروسازی، تغذیه و تولید سوخت زیستی مطرح می شود. ابزارها و روشهای مختلف شناسایی و پردازش چربیها شامل روشهای مبتنی بر اسپکترومتری جرمی، طیفسنجی و کروماتوگرافی، روشهای شیمیایی و تصویربرداری در گسترش بیشتر لیپیدومیکس سهم بسزایی داشتهاند؛ این مجموعه به همراه ابزارهای کامپیوتری، بیوانفورماتیک و پایگاههای اطلاعاتی مفصلاً توضیح داده شدهاند. تسلط بر حوزههای متنوع علم لیپیدومیکس به صورت معنیداری به توسعه پژوهشهای کاربردی در زمینه بهبود کمیت و کیفیت روغنهای زیستی، شناسایی علایم و نشانگرهای زیستی بیماریهای مرتبط با چربی و شناسایی مسیرهای مختلف متابولیسم چربی و آنزیمهای درگیر در آنها کمک کرده است.

نگاهی بر وضعیت کنونی زبان شناسی زیستی
زبانشناسی زیستی حوزه میانرشتهای جدیدی است که ویژگیهای بنیادی زبان انسان را میکاود و سیر تحول و تکوین آن در افراد، شیوه به کار بستن آن در امر ارتباط، مکانیسمهای مغزی مرتبط با آن، مجموعه ژنهای پشتیبان آن و پدیدآئی آن در نوع بشر را بررسی مینماید. برای بررسی موارد پیشگفته باید به تعاملات ذهن و مغز در تولید و ادراک زبان پرداخت، مولفههای مغزی که خاص و ویژه زبان (و بویژه انسان) هستند را کشف کرد و در پایان، این مولفهها را از مولفههای دیگر قوای شناختی متمایز ساخت. پیشرفتهای حوزههای زبانشناسی نظری، ژنتیک، روانشناسی رشد و روانشناسی تطبیقی، برنامه فرگشت-وافرگشت در زیستشناسی، فرضیههای بدیع و آزمونپذیری را در رابطه با مسائل مذکور ارائه نمودهاند. در پژوهش حاضر به دو مسئله منشا و تنوع زبان پرداخته میشود؛ بیشتر سعی میگردد با کمک گرفتن از فعالیتهای اخیر زیستشناسی در باب موضوعات فرگشت (تکامل) و رشد و در چارچوب نظریه اصول و پارامترها به دو مسئله منشا و تنوع زبان پرداخته شود. زبان بشر، نظام محاسباتی درونی است که توسط عملگری بازگشتپذیر کنترل شده و ساختی پایگانی را بدست میدهد؛ ارتباط و تعامل با نظامهای تفکر و حرکت به طرح نقشمند زبان شکل میبخشند. در این پژوهش به نتایج تحقیقات بر روی ژن FOXP < /font>2 نیز پرداخته میشود. نگارندگان برآنند تا نشان دهند چطور، پیدایش تکاملی-جهشی این نظام بازگشتپذیر از بازارزیابی استدلالهای تکاملی و تحقیقات مربوط به ارتباط بین تکامل و رشد سود میبرد. در نهایت مشخص میشود که تغییراتی نسبتا سریع در ساختار زیستی انسان بوقوع پیوسته است که انسان را مجهز به زبان کردهاند.

تدابیر لازم برای بیان و تولید پروتئین های نوترکیب در گیاهان و تخلیص آنها
استفاده از گیاهان مهندسی شده به عنوان بیوراکتورهای تولید پروتئینهای هترولوگوس، جایگزینی بسیار مناسب برای سیستم های بیانی متداول کشتهای سلولی پستانداران و سیستمهای حیوانی تراریخته هستند. برای تولید کارآمد پروتئینهای نوترکیب، انتخاب گونه میزبان بسیار اهمیت دارد که در این خصوص انتخاب گونه میزبان وابسته به نوع پروتئین نوترکیب، سیکل زندگی میزبان و عملکرد آن، هزینههای نگهداری و افزایش مقیاس تولید میباشد. از مهمترین مزایای سیستمهای بیانی مبتنی بر گیاهان میتوان به مقرون به صرفه بودن سیستمهای گیاهی، عدم آلودگی پروتئینهای نوترکیب مشتق شده از گیاهان با میکروارگانیسمهای بیماریزای انسانی بدلیل عدم میزبانی گیاهان برای عوامل بیماریزای انسانی، آسانی و کم هزینه بودن استحصال و تخلیص پروتئینهای نیازمند پردازشهای پایین دستی در گیاهان و انجام بیشتر تغییرات پس ترجمهای مورد نیاز برای پایداری و فعالیت پروتئین توسط گیاهان اشاره کرد. برای توسعه تولید پروتئینهای نوترکیب مبتنی بر گیاه بهینه سازی میزان بیان پروتئین بسیار ضروری میباشد و در این خصوص فاکتورهای مختلفی در کنترل بیان تراژن در سطوح مختلف نسخهبرداری، ترجمه، تغییرات پس از ترجمهای و ذخیره پروتئین نوترکیب در سلول درگیر میباشند. از طرف دیگر مقادیر پائین پروتئین تولید شده مشکل اساسی محدود کننده بهرهبرداری تجاری از پروتئینهای نوترکیب بیان شده در گیاهان میباشد. بنابراین بهبود تجمع پروتئین نوترکیب در گیاه تراریخته یک عامل بسیار مهم در میزان مطلوبیت یک سیستم بیانی محسوب میشود. در این راستا الحاق سیگنالهائی به انتهای کربوکسیل پروتئینهای هدف منجر به ابقاء و افزایش تجمع آنها در شبکه آندوپلاسمی میشود. پس از تولید محصول نوترکیب، استفاده از affinity tagها ابزارهای بسیار موثر و مفید برای خالصسازی پروتئینهای نوترکیب هستند و امکان تخلیص پروتئینها بدون نیاز به اطلاع قبلی از خصوصیات بیوشیمایی آنها را ممکن میسازند.

آلودگی صوتی به عنوان عامل استرس زا در گونه های جانوری آبزی
صوت در محیط های آبی به طور بسیار کارامد دارای سرعت بالایی است. بنابراین پتانسیل اثرگذاری بر محیط های بزرگتر و گسترده تری در حدود هزاران کیلومتر مربع و یا حتی بیشتر را دارد. فعالیت های انسانی شامل کشتیرانی و قایق های موتوری تفریحی، سکوهای حفاری بستر دریا و اقیانوسها، کاوش های زلزله نگاری و فعالیتهای مرتبط با تولید انرژی شامل نیروگاه های آبی تولید برق موجب افزایش چشمگیر آلاینده های صوتی به عنوان عامل غالب آلودگی در محیط های آبی شده است. امروزه آلودگی های صوتی ناشی از فعالیت های انسانی یکی از مشکلات عمده در محیط های آبی شامل زیستگاه های دریایی و آب شیرین است و به عنوان عامل استرس زا برای ماهی ها و سایر آبزیان شناخته می شوند. پاسخ ماهی و سایر آبزیان به عامل استرس زا شباهت های زیادی به پاسخ سایر مهره داران ساکن خشکی دارد. همچنین آلودگی های صوتی ناشی از فعالیت های انسانی می تواند موجب مجموعه ای از تغییرات رفتاری در ماهی ها، پستانداران دریایی (وال ها) و پرندگان شود. بنابراین آلودگی های صوتی ناشی از فعالیت های انسانی بازخوردهای بلند مدت مستقیم و غیر مستقیمی بر رفتار، بقا و بوم شناسی یک گونه دارد. در این مقاله اثرات صوت به عنوان عامل استرس زا در ماهی مرور شده است.

تاثیر بیماریهای کبدی بر سلامت مغز
کبد یکی از اندام های حیاتی بدن است که بیماری های آن موجب ایجاد اختلال در فرآیند های شناختی مغز می شود. آنسفالوپاتی کبدی (HE- Hepatic Encephalopathy) یک تغییرسطح آگاهی در نتیجه نارسایی کبدی است که شروع آن ممکن است تدریجی یا ناگهانی باشد. علائم دیگر آن شامل مشکلات حرکتی، تغییر خلق و خوی یا تغییرات شخصیت است و در مراحل پیشرفته می تواند منجر به کما شود. آنسفالوپاتی کبدی به عنوان طیفی از اختلالات روانپزشکی در بیماران مبتلا به اختلال عملکرد کبدی تعریف شده است. این اختلال ممکن است در کسانی که دارای بیماری کبدی حاد یا مزمن هستند رخ دهد. در برخی موارد توسط عفونت، خونریزی، یبوست، تغییرات الکترولیت ها یا داروهای خاص ایجاد می شود. اعتقاد بر این است که یکی از علل پایه ایجاد آن عدم حذف آمونیاک موجود در خون توسط کبد است. تشخیص این اختلال با توجه به علل احتمالی نیز دیگر انجام می شود و معمولا این کار با اندازه گیری سطوح آمونیاک خون، الکتروانسفالوگرام یا اسکن مغز صورت می پذیرد. آنسفالوپاتی کبدی احتمالا با درمان قابل برگشت است که معمولا شامل مراقبت های حمایتی و توجه به عوامل ایجاد کننده است. لاکتولوز اغلب برای کاهش میزان آمونیاک استفاده می شود. بعضی از آنتی بیوتیک ها و پروبیوتیک ها نیز گزینه های دیگر بالقوه هستند. همچنین در هنگام تشدید بیماری، پیوند کبد می تواند باعث بهبود آنسفالوپاتی کبدی شود.

دستگاه مبدل اطلاعات دیجیتالی به زیستی برای تولید محصولات زیستی مورد تقاضا
دکتر کِرِگ ونتر یکی از رؤسای طرح توالییابی ژنوم انسان و نیز مجری طرح حیات مصنوعی در مقالهای که در شماره اخیر مجله nature biotechnology به چاپ رسیده است، دستگاهی را معرفی کرده که قابلیت تبدیل خودکار اطلاعات توالی DNA به محصولات زیستی مورد نیاز را بدون دخالت انسان دارد. این دستگاه به طور خاص قادر به ساختن الگوهای DNA، تکثیر آن، تبدیل آن به مولکول RNA، ترجمه آن به پروتئین و در نهایت سرهم کردن و تولید ماده فعال مورد نظر و حتی ذرات ویروسی است.
